if you back it up, or dont mind losing your saves it can be plug and play, but you get some benefits from updating.
setting up a new card is a lengthy process but totally worth it
anything all nes/genesis/snes/gba runs flawlessly even ps1.
n64/dreamcast/psp games may run full speed, some may run okay with reduced resolution, but some aren’t playable.
I still give 5 stars based off the price and what it can do, if you want out the box flawless n64/dc/psp look elsewhere but if you are willing to do some tweaking you may get the games you want to run
